Cintia I wrote in a few fan fictions about my favorite show and publish them (which was a big step for me because I never let people read what I write - I had bad experiences in the past with some laughter), but even when I wanted to continue writing, I couldn't. Blocking reached my fan fiction production too... And I'm starting to get desperate, because if I don't have writing, then... Writing is the only thing that has ever distinguished me. It's me. If I don't have it, there's something missing...

Emma Barry I go through these stages where I can't seem to finish anything that I read, where I can't get involved in a book. Reading has been an enormous part of my identity--maybe the core part--since I was a young kid, and it's so scary every time it happens. I know that it will get better because it always has before, but it's so threatening to how I see myself.

It does sound like for you, this is something that's getting worse in part because you're ascribing meaning to it. So I would back away from that. Don't beat yourself up because you're not writing. But I would try some flash fiction prompts: http://flashfictiononline.com/main/. (If you search on Twitter, you'll find lots of groups that have daily flash fiction challenges.) It's short, it's different, etc. Once you've cranked out a few 1000-word stories, you'll see (I hope!) that your writing hasn't gone, it's just hibernating for a bit.

Good luck!

Cintia Exactly. It means a lot to me, it has been my shield against the world, when people couldn't understand me, because they didn't read a thing, and it was easier to consider me the crazy one. I have no idea what a flash fiction is, sorry. If you could give me a hint... It's the first time I hear about it
