Jenny Jo Weir OK, I can accept this :-) I was simply curious about him. I have made many people read this series and have got into several debates on the translation of the ending. Did you mean to do this on purpose? Some of my reading friends didn't think they get a happy ending, I disagree. Am I right?

Jenny Jo Weir That's what I thought! So then he comes out of purgatory when he walks her out, right? And that is how he gets out of there, but this time with his memory...

Amy Harmon They definitely get a happy ending. Johnny consciously chooses purgatory when he's thrust back in time, knowing that it will eventually lead to Maggie. He doesn't relive Purgatory, he simply remembers it and willingly accepts it, which changes the future (the present) and allows him to use the little bit of magic remaining in him to save Maggie's life.
