Patrick Sullivan Well I absolutely loved the book. It's the best book I've read all year. Congratulations on your success and please keep writing!

Scott Hawkins Thanks! BTW, I just edited my response. I'm working on another one right now--there's still a certain amount of screen staring going on, but it's starting to roll. I plan to turn it in by December.

Patrick Sullivan That's crazy! It must be s huge ordeal to get a finished product but it totally worked. I can't wait to check out your next one and I'm going to tell everyone I know about this one!

Patrick Sullivan Also Margaret is one of the creepiest characters I've ever read so you hit it out of the park with her!

Scott Hawkins re: huge ordeal - nah. I mean, it's a lot of work, but it's work that I enjoy. The editing part is actually kind of fun--I'm not really a sports guy, but my wife is a big Mark Wahlberg fan. Remember that movie where Wahlberg was a bartender who tried out for some football team and actually made it? This feels like that.

re: Margaret - Thanks! Margaret is my favorite librarian. I'm not super clear on why, but the more I think about it the more I feel like she's secretly the heart of the book.

Patrick Sullivan She was my favorite as well. I felt bad for her but was also unsettled by her. David also, I hated him a lot but also couldn't help but pity him. You definitely wrote some interesting characters!
