Thanks for that answer, it does. Many recent novels on nineteenth-century Britain and its Empire are more clearly twenty-first-century novels that interact with the nineteenth century than 'immersive' historical novels like this one, so that made me wonder. Best of luck with any future projects!

Thanks Dany. I always do my best to make my novels 'immersive' and authentic to the period but that's not always easy and, to be honest, not always what readers want!!! But your best wishes are much appreciated and good luck to you too. Dave
