I do think it was part of the plan as my understanding was that she didn’t even like John Paul. A lot for a 13 year old to come up with!
The escape plan was underway at least all summer, because the boy saw Barbara going to TJ's every night. Still don't know how or why they specifically picked JP to frame?
TJ had connections to Louise as she had been a counselor for 4-5 years. TJ also helped her heal for a week after finding her in Balsam during the winter.
