What is the alternate path then? How does one seduce a book out of an author?
Good advice! We should tell PR and his publisher to stop grabbing at our money and focus on the trilogy. Which is of course what you meant...four years ago?
I'm sure his deal with Hollywood to make a series is all about giving, just like the video games he plays, the books he's reading, and the D&D games. We can only hope that in four MORE years he still will not have finished day three for all the good being done. Imagine what he could do if he does nothing for another eight! Or if he does nothing for another twelve years! We should be so lucky.
Entitled much? Each book written that gives you joy is a gift to you. No writer is under any obligation to supply you with anything. You are not a special snowflake whom the world revolves around. Be grateful for what has been provided.

Decide how you want the story to end. Pretend he wrote the story you wanted. Don't worry about his ending because now you have one you're happy with. Alternately, keep grumbling and reminding yourself that just because someone isn't your bitch doesn't mean they aren't a bitch.
It's something to do while waiting. And A Feast for Crows proved waiting to enjoy the next book isn't always an option. Because waiting doesn't guarantee a book you can enjoy.
