Looking online, the closest I could find to Valek's carving stones would be a rough or uncut type of snowflake obsidian. Hope this helps
I always thought you were writing about Apache Tears, can be a dull gray when raw, but are a stunning black when carved and polished. They are just rounded bits of obsidian, but I've dropped one before and it shattered just like in the book, dust and all - plus "Apache Tears" helps with focus, grounding and protection :) Fits Valek to the ground
