pearl. Thank you, Twitios! I had heard somewhere that this is a great series for Harry Potter lovers and I just wanted to see of that was true! I've got to read this series ASAP! (:

Morgane I know this is an old thread but Bartimaeus has better character development than HP. The HP world is more like a parallel world, so is "bigger" while Bartimaeus uses our known world, so it's a different type of fantasy. I love HP, but when I read Jonathan Stroud, I realized that Harry himself doesn't go through much change at all. What happens to him and his world are more interesting than him. Bartimaeus is a great trilogy because the characters are fascinating, the plot and world are secondary, which is how I like it.
