Susie Nina had thrown Blue Bunny in the trash in town. The toy ambulance could have been a lure.

Ti I missed the part about blue bunny then. I don't remember it being thrown in the trash but that whole last bit I rushed through to get to the end.

Toni Nina is so twisted and evil!
Her blocking Emma could've been an attempt at seeming to want to protect her from what she will see--her son drowned.
I believe that Nina did cause Christopher's drowning, but don't see the justification for it, underscoring how demented she was.

Ti Toni, good point.

Susie Or she wants to prolong Emma's agony to find out if anything has happened to him.

Re Marzullo I need an additional chapter with the conclusion I picture for this one. Beautiful imagery and amazing writing, but I can't take the ending!

Tracey Nina threw Blue Bunny away when she went into town pretending to look for him.

Lisa Hall She did not have Blue Bunny to throw into the pool, but she could have told Christopher Blue Bunny was hiding in the pool.

Katherine I got the impression that Nina blamed Emma for her parents' divorce. It was clear from her memories that him demonstrating interest in Emma (even though Emma apparently had nothing to do with him) represented all his cheating and was the last straw for Nina's mother. It overtly demonstrates that Nina is not stable, as Emma did absolutely nothing to encourage Nina's father.

Katherine Oh, and I sure hope Emma got there in time. Yikes! What an ending!
