That actually is really helpful since, when I start a series, I tend to read any and all books available and wouldn't have thought to only read the first 3 books of the Dwellers series or to include the Country Saga at all. Also, right now, I only have the first of each series and NONE of the Evolution series *GASP* (I know, I'm just as scandalized as y'all are! LOL) I'm collecting them, slowly but surely... Thank you for the quick answer, David! =)

So Earth Dwellers is the final book for both the Dwellers series and the Country series?
Yes, that's exactly right, Becca! Characters and plot lines from both series smash together in The Earth Dwellers :) Hope you enjoy the ride!!!

First off, great question, Katy! And wonderful answer, David. I had no idea that the two series feature a cross-over near the end, and that's definitely something to be aware of, so thank you both.
I'm curious, what were some of the deciding factors in combining the two series?
Thanks Dustin! I was partway through writing the Dwellers Saga (set in an underground dystopian world) when I realized the world was only half-complete. What was happening aboveground? I wondered to myself. Was it completely destroyed? At that moment and very STRONG character voice started speaking to me, and I knew there were people still living on the surface of the earth. That's when I knew I had another trilogy on my hand, one that was inevitable going to come crashing into the Dwellers Saga. So I guess you could say that from near the very beginning I knew that the two series' needed to combine at some point, and I was always working toward that goal. Great question!
I love your willingness to engage with your fans, and it's obvious that it brings you joy. I also appreciate your somewhat lengthy and thought-out responses to our questions. Thank you, I love learning about the creative processes of art..especially writing!
