John killed Penny, not Elizabeth.
I agree with everything you said, except it was John who killed Penny. Remember, when Elizabeth was saying goodbye to Penny, she said that she saw John giving her an injection.
I agree. Elizabeth is guilty. Why would she bother doing this? She didn’t stop John and knew what he would do next.
