Your comment is pretty hostile. I think it is definitely possibly the author was over-inspired by RD. Please see my comment from 2 months ago - there is a lot of overlap. Perhaps rip-off wasn't the best vocab to apply here, but overlaps certainly apply well beyond birthdays, parent relationship, major metro as you mention. And this book was published in 2022 with the first season of RD in 2019, which I think is well within publishing time frames. I stand by my comments with the caveat that I should have probably used a less emotionally laden word than rip off. Interestingly, I just finished Wrong Place, Wrong Time, another of the time-travel trope, in which the author specifically mentions RD as an inspiration. That was a good book I haven't yet reviewed, but I found few to no overlaps between it and RD.
