Owen Blacker Thank you Kartik

Taun This is untrue. While there are only hints at romantic feelings, they do come from an LGBTQ character

Kartik But there aren't any confirmations given nor does it lead to anything. If you want to believe the character is queer based on a few lines of subtext then more power to you, but for me I need more substance for me to classify a character as LGBT

Owen Blacker I mean, I'm in my late 40s. I am very used to relying on queer subtext 😖

message 5: by Kartik (new)

Kartik Haha I totally get that! As a young person who's been exposed to very straightforward queer rep from my youth I've settled for nothing less. I'm happy it was able to provide you for the rep you were looking for but I can't say it did the same for me 😔

devon marie @ Ruby Robin wanted to brush Ramy's hair behind his ear and caress his face. IDK about you, but in my neck of the woods, that ain't platonic.

Mya R What Owen said. There is absolutely queer subtext in several places in the book, but since romance is not part of the plot, and because it’s only subtext, the title should not be included on lists of queer representation.
