Mitali Hah, I thought exactly the same thing - that Gregor's views on naming his son "Serg" would be roughly along the lines of "over my dead body". And that he would probably wind up naming his son "Xav", after one of his few ancestors* who had an undeniably positive reputation, both on Barrayar and abroad. *(Ok, not a direct ancestor, but close enough.)

I didn't really think about the name "Ezar" in terms of the Komarran view of the former emperor (considering that poor Aral bore the brunt of the blame for that fiasco), but given that Ezar was also responsible for starting the war with Escobar, the name probably has a poor galactice reputation as well.
