No really. The idea haunted me most of my life. I tried poetry. But it still wouldn't go away. That's when I knew the voice had to be right. I had to get inside that child's head. I bought an old school desk which I had to raise to fit my legs. I went back to writing with pencils. The scratching sound helped. The rest of it happened from there. As Truman Capote once said: If the notion is good enough, it it truly belongs to you, then you can't forget it - it will haunt you till it's written.
