I tend to feel that Jeremy and Lowen have some leeway here seeing as they have both gone through and are going through various shades of grief. While this doesn't excuse them from murder or even having an affair...if manuscript Verity is to be believed, Jeremy is not only a victim of her sick manipulation, she is a murderer and had murderous tendencies from the time she felt she was being replaced by her own damn children.
I was thinking the same thing about Lowen when she bit the headboard. I am glad I wasn't the only one!
