Loved The Martian! And I will fourth the raving and fanatical arm flailing for Hyperion. It is one of my favorite series, hands down.
I feel it's my duty to hype The Book Of Strange New Things by Michael Faber -- it's also a fabulous book, didn't get the coverage or kudos it deserves, and seems all but forgotten already...
