‘Brain breaks’ sounds so harsh. I think Rhys Bowen is a step above ‘beach reads’, but I get your point about these being lighter, but fun reads.
They make a nice change from real life.
Most of my book club reads are ‘serous literature’ and I also enjoy those.
The nice thing about life is that there is time to enjoy both types of reading.

I just finished the ARC and it was a great escape!
