Angela - thank you - although I dont think she would leave her kids or leave the memories for them at this place they love so much. And I also dont think she is a coward, but YES I was having a terrible time reconciling her inability to stand up to conrad versus every other choice she made in her life. I understand the idea of wanting to pretend like it didnt happen but she could have scared him out of her room by waking up confused and tellling him to leave - never letting him know she she knew. TO withstand that treatment over and over seemed ridiculous to me. But was also a bit intimidated to say it because it sounds a bit harsh - the children in this book were so neglected and emotionally squashed. Terrible. A bit much for me.
