Meg That’s interesting, because to me, Tully’s illness did not seem difficult enough - we was eating, drinking, and going away on his own. Certainly he was having issues, but at convenient times. Perhaps I was too harsh on the author.

Scott Fisher I agree that his death seemed to come when he wasn’t too sick (at least in the novel). I don’t know enough about assisted suicide to know if people access it before they’re violently ill (but it makes sense if a person is trying to avoid a long, agonising decline).
