That's a fair assessment. Bran can open the bond and show her his respect and regard for her and they can be good mates, but its not the same kind of great love he had with Blue Jay. Love that you made that distinction between the kind of love Charles + Anna, Adam +Mercy and Bran + Blue Jay have/had vs what he could build with Leah!
I don't think it is a matter of love or hate. I think bran's actions are out of fear. He knows he forced her into this and feels overwhelming guilt over it. I think closing himself off from her is a way to not have to deal with the fact that he didn't give Leah a chance to choose he took her and he can't face the fact that she may be just what he needs, he just has to open up to her and they need to find peace. I am not saying that she will ever forgive him for what he did but I think he, realizes that in order for this to work, he has to open up and let her in, as someone once said I love you skinned knees and all. Charles has to accept what he did and leah needs to do that also. They need to come to a mutual understanding and it appears it is starting
