I definitely think that would be a good ending but I feel like that wouldn't have fit with the book. The point of Tender is the Flesh is not a romance, it's a critique on society and Marcos very much reflects us. He sees himself as better than the others but in the end he still participates in the norms of this society. I see this similar to how most of us love animals but are we willing to become vegans and advocate for their rights?
