Diane Klajbor Thanks for your thoughtful answer, Kit

Kit Shum You're very welcome, Diane. The Secret Place was actually my introduction to Tana French, and got me back to reading again.

Diane Klajbor Any book that gets you back to reading is good. I really do like Tana French's Murder Squad series. You should read them in order to get the most out of them. "In the Woods" is the first one. A minor character in one book is a major character in another. The books are very good. I didn't care for "The Secret Place." I know French can do better. Keep reading, enjoy

Kit Shum Yes, I was very glad that I chanced on her book. In fact, I have "chain-read" all her books after I finished The Secret Place; did not do it in order though, just got whichever I could lay my hands on first. I like Faithful Place the best; The Likeness also captured my imagination. In the Woods was a bit too dark for me, but her latest, The Searcher, ranks right up there with Faithful Place, for me.
My love for reading has definitely been rekindled, I've picked up on a couple of my favourite authors, John le Carre and Len Deighton, not to mention some "new blood", Erika Swyler and Ted Chiang's Story of Your Life (after the movie Arrival came out). A good book has no equal, other than a wonderful piece of music.

Diane Klajbor I'm looking forward to reading The Searcher. It's wonderful to find an author you love, especially if they've written alot of books. Try Linwood Barclay's books. He writes fast paced, suspenseful thrillers. He has some stand alones and a short (4 book) series. I'm glad your love for reading has come alive again. I don't know what I'd do without books, especially during this virus crisis.
