         Desdemona would have to live another century to meet Foix. This is of course possible, but betting on it wouldn't seem a sound investment. Furthermore, I wouldn't bet on her author either documenting a century of further adventures, or deciding to skip over it and refer to it briefly in flashback. It seems to me that the three ages of the World of the Five Gods were placed that far apart with the intention of keeping them separate. However, there are no certainties about the future of a fictional series: authors can make decisions on whim.

         I did the math once, and I think it is possible that Penric could live long enough to see the rise of the Golden General. It would be interesting seeing those events on the page, especially from Pen and Des's POV.
