I am quite astounded at this loaded question which was quite unnecessary.
I agree with Val Robson. What an ignorant and baiting comment. How about we choose authors because we enjoy their writing.
I think the poster was asking as gently as possible. I did think that Ms. Hannah was a person of color by her old picture and envisioned her as so. I'm surprised to learn that she's not! But I don't feel anyone was intending offense.
Bonkers - what a very racially insensitive question, Maybe a person is of colour maybe not, but that is a super NON PC question to point at anyone - disgraceful. Hats off to you for your statesmanesque (statespersonesque) reply. Reallhy how dare some people?????
