I read Leviathan Wakes years ago, so I forgot he was the XO.
Tanaka is the obligatory Dangerous Woman that Corey needs chewing up scenery in every book. (Now that I think of it, funny how they all end up dying...)
Tanaka seemed to me what Bobbie might have been if things had gone differently/wrong in her life. So it’s another example of Holden’s Do The Right Thing rubbing off.

Holden was the XO of the Canterbury. Also, you did not just equate Aliana Tanaka to Roberta Draper. :-P
Again though, better summary of the series than what I wrote a few days ago.
