Huh! I was entirely put off by the cover, which considering how long I avoided Sailor's Delight on account of its cover -- well, I should know better, that's all.

I have seen other people say that, and I have so much sympathy for the author, because covers are hard. I assume they wanted it to be like that, because Gochenour is an illustrator, so it's a stylistic choice. But the cover really does not set you up for the contents. Although to be fair, I'm not entirely sure what would.
