Ron Nolan The end of the world as we know it. Will humans survive?

In the year 2030, a growing number of ecologists are blowing the whistle to warn skeptics that Earth is near to or already exceeding its carrying capacity. They urge the big, profit-addicted corporations that control the world governments, to quit lying to the public and take immediate action. To make matters even more stressful, more and more businesses are being staffed by specialized AI robots and androids leaving fewer job opportunities for natural, organic humans. As a result many people have resorted to the lifestyle of gypsies, living in wagons drawn by rustic farm tractors and working as migrant laborers barely able to make ends meet by traveling from harvest-to-harvest.

Warning Signs--Viruses, hurricanes, tornados, floods, earthquakes, food shortages, power outages. \

Charles Jurassic Bites: A Plague On All Our Houses

Jurassic Bites by Charles Craig now on Amazon (free for kindle unlimited subscribers)

When Ramona Jeffries of the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta discovered that remote villages in Venezuela were losing contact with the outside world she feared the worst: a new, deadly and virulently contagious disease had sprung up and wiped out the population of the villages that had gone dark. Ramona sounded the alarm of a new potentially ultra deadly disease outbreak to her bosses at the CDC.

But when phone videos of Venezuelan people being eaten alive by hordes of thousand-pound dinosaurs began to flood the Internet and then mainstream media, everyone realized that the term “macrophage” (Latin for “big eater”) had changed for all time.

And worst of all, the thousand-pound dinosaurs numbered in the millions because they reproduced fast. In the world of the Jurassic, they were prey as well as predators.

Ramona's projections, based on the known birth rate of Achillobactors, showed that they might just overrun all of South America, all of Central America and all of North America and perhaps even the entire world, an apocalyptic event that could wipe out the entire human race.

The race is on to stop the Achillobactor horror. Join Ramona Jeffries and the CDC, the world's armed forces and people all over the world who are going to have to cooperate with one another or die, because the Achillobactors are coming by for dinner – and dinner is us![

They primarily are just another listing of books, with a blog post from the author. I was just wondering what experiences any author here may have had.

J. Colford J. Gordon ColfordA very nice review from a published poet, public speaker and retired English teacher, through Facebook:

Sonja Frey --- Hi J.: I am Mary's friend and neighbor, and I finished your Crucible of Honor trilogy. Awesome! I really enjoyed the books, loved the way you developed the many different characters, and appreciated the entire premise of honor, loyalty, and morality. Though fictional countries, I would categorize the books as historical novels....I look forward to your next trilogy. Keep up the good work.

J. Gordon Colford --- Thank you, Sonja. I had considered classifying these books as historical fiction. I have opted to list them as allegorical fantasy. I do hope you join us on the journey to Tyria. New characters and new challenges ahead for our friends from Vasi-Kedar and Medera.

Sonja Frey --- Mary told me "fantasy", so I wondered if I was going to like them, but I DID like them--a lot!

Deborah The Land of the Purple Ring
Cover
Think 13-1/12 Lives of Captain Bluebear, The Phantom Tollbooth, the Oz books -- and anything else that celebrates the imagination.

Immeasurable imagination. Unmitigated magic. Spectacular style.

The clockwork man is crafted, to begin with—commissioned by that terrible tyrant Time to serve as her slave for all eternity. His brain boasts balance wheels and torsion springs; he can wind himself up with a key in his side; and, most importantly, his gyroscopic tourbillon heart glimmers with pure diamond.

He is a living being and he is art, and he refuses to remain a slave forever. He therefore slips through Time’s fingers as the Sands of Time slip through the cracks of reality (at least, when the time cats aren’t using them as a litter box).

Among astounding adventures, despite harrowing hardships, and in between escaping interfering enchanters, the clockwork man seeks his imagination, his purpose, and his name.

G.R. Paskoff "Laster"

Leroy was never the best student at school but he was never the worst either. School was always about not standing out, not drawing attention to yourself. Especially since his father lost his job and became a migrant worker. But when his father gets relocated to the mines on Mars, Leroy discovers that nothing on Earth prepared him for a world where just the air alone can kill you.

And being different from the other kids at school? Well, let’s just say Leroy doesn’t want that. Leroy doesn’t want that at all.

Tom Merchant The Benevolent Troll

The Benevolent Troll by Tom R Merchant

If you like off-wall absurdist sci-fi comedy (with a bit of travel, romance and the apocalypse thrown in), then my book "The Benevolent Troll" may give you a laugh. It's available free on Amazon for May 30 and 31 and then a Goodreads Free Giveaway starts on June 2, so quite frankly it's almost impossible to pay for this book! Here's the link:

The Benevolent Troll

and here's the synopsis:

It is a well known fact that Western civilization's greatest moment was the invention of the Snooze Button.

So when intrepid traveller and self-conscious blusher Practice Wells comes up with the only possible improvement, he is dumbfounded when his invention, The Benevolent Troll, is rejected by several manufacturers. He finds himself broke, his ambitious girlfriend dumps him, and his car breaks down in the rain - so could his day get any worse? Well yes, as it turns out, when he is visited by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and informed of his imminent death.

An anonymous agent intervenes with an offer to present his invention at the prestigious British Inventors' Guild - but is this invitation as innocent as it seems? Practice arrives in London intent on enjoying a few weeks backpacking before his big presentation. He didn't expect his travels to deliver the girl of his dreams, he didn't expect his invention to come to life as an abusive, chain smoking alien and he certainly didn't expect to be the only thing standing between humanity and complete extinction. It's funny how things work out...

Remember it's free on Amazon till 31 May then the Goodreads Giveaway cuts in. Hope you enjoy discovering humanity's true purpose!

And no obligation of course, but if you do read it, please leave an honest review - thank you!

Pat Powers Earth: The Love Invasion

I'm putting on my hat as a publisher (Hottitude Press) for this one to promote Barry Anderson's "Earth: The Love Invasion."

As I wrote in the foreword to that book:

“Earth: The Love Invasion” is a modern reinvention of the sort of books that Harry Harrison and Mack Reynolds were writing back in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Disguised as pulp SF adventures, they were also sharp sociological critiques of US and Western society. Readers enjoyed the well-written pulpy adventure but also left with a different vision of the world they lived in.

When Barry Anderson asked if he could borrow Collar World to create a vehicle for science fiction stories that created social satires by looking at Earth through alien eyes, I was enormously flattered and was happy to give him the go-ahead, especially since I figured it would never happen.

How wrong I was! This is actually his second Collar World-based novel, and at 100,000 words, it's longer than anything I've written based on Collar World. And it's tremendous fun to read. Anderson captured the joy of the pulp SF novels but has conceived them in modern terms, so the story doesn't feel campy or quaint. Anderson is skilled at creating lively, believable characters and he writes sharp, snappy dialogue for them. Like its predecessors, “The Love Invasion” has a point to make and makes it strongly. It makes for a fun read.

William Bailey From the mind of Northern Michigan sci-fi author, William Bailey:

The Great Ship of Knowledge
volume-one second-edition
Learning Earth's Deathly History

Learning Earth's Deathly History, is a virtual reality post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure unlike anything you've ever read or watched!

Goodreads Reviews:

Part-One: The Journey Ends

"Mindf***ed! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Once you get through the beginning chapter of this book, it definitely gets better and more thought provoking! I have the second book in this series and was curious how the first book would tie-in, so I ended up buying this book. Good thing I did. Now I have a sense of what's going on.

Whereas the first part of this book was about the author's life history and the momentous event that changed his life, the second part is pure fantasy and creates a very thought provoking argument to the holographic universe theory."

Part-Two: Learning Earth's Deathly History

"Totally Mindblown. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If there ever was an imagined story that could also double as a cautionary tale, this would be it. From beginning to end, this was a non-stop mind bending ride.

The first third to half of the book deals with a group of Navy SEALs who infiltrate a ship to get information regarding a group who wants to attack America and its allies. Thereafter, I have to admit it was a very depressing but eye opening ride to the end of the book about a scary vision of the effects of all-out nuclear war. The end wraps up with the Navy SEALs, their families and other key figures being transported from place to desolate place virtually.

This is definitely a book that leaves you pondering. I'm still shuddering from it all."

The story:

Of the billions of people inhabiting our reality, only 144,000 are living souls.

Everyone else is computer filler... simply character actors playing their parts on the world stage.

Indeed, our planet is a convincing virtual reality built for teaching us the genocidal history of humanity on Earth.

While our true forms, which are kept in individual life-cells onboard starships speeding through space, remain in catatonic states -- our spirits remain here Learning Earth's Deathly History.

Earth was destroyed 1000 years ago in a horrific nuclear world war that we must all sadly experience by virtually living through it.

Only after our horrendous history lessons will we be awakened to discover our real bodies and futuristic surroundings. It's going to be mind-boggling experience to say the least.

J. Straley Those interested in the British diaspora to Australia/NZ may be interested in my e-book (Amazon) "The Good Harvest." So far it's five stars!

Here's a blurb:
There you are shipwrecked on an island off the west coast of New Zealand. It’s 1815. The place has possibilities, it might grow on you. Would you stay?

It certainly grew on Harold, and in only a few weeks he formed the idea of homesteading this island. He buys it from the Maori. He works hard to improve the title to the land, realizing he may see challenges. And in an unplanned blink of an eye he gains a family – a wife and a son!

It takes Harold some little time to recognize what a partner he has in Hannah. She’s a transported convict, but after the shipwreck Harold cleverly finesses her out of that trap. She can stay or she can go; she chooses to stay. Hannah is canny, she’s just as bold as Harold, just as apt to clap onto a good opportunity. It’s a bit of a rough start. These two really fit one and other – but they must discover it.

So there you have it, the tremendous opportunity of a new and unspoiled land, a couple of doughty pioneers, and a rip-roaring adventure that leaps from a shipwreck to hunting the whale to courtroom drama. You’ll turn the pages eagerly because the action never stops – and because to a large extent this really is how it was back in those days!

Byron Fortin Hey everyone,
Right now all entries in my paranormal fantasy series are FREE on Kindle!

Series link:
https://www.amazon.com/Byron-Fortin/e...

Synopsis:
Raised by his Mothers on the principles of the Goddess, but not one to believe, Ambrosia longs for the day when he can free himself of faith completely. Rituals of invocation, tales of reincarnation, dimensional coalescence, spirits and the astral plane... he never felt or saw anything during these teachings, and certainly nothing that he would consider proof of the lore, which brought him to the logical conclusion that there is truly nothing else out there--merely works of fiction.

Yet all things change when Mona, a family friend he's never met before, offers to grant his wish and take him far away from there. It's only after arriving in the strange new place and leaving his one true home behind, that he is made to open his eyes.

Either magic exists and the myths are real, or he's lost his mind completely.

It all starts with a girl and a dream...

Though not prevalent throughout this series, it does contain some content of an adult nature. Recommended for mature audiences. This story begins on chapter three of book one.

Offer expires 23/06/2020

Warm regards,
BF

Josephwood Greetings!

The Young One & The Lands: Cipher of Ciphers is an ongoing fantasy novel about how a parentless boy survived in a seemingly coming apocalypse.

-------------------------------------
Synopsis:
It had been extremely, terribly — inconceivably long that the withering city laboured under the enslavement of a grim, tyrannical winter. Though in despair were its weary, spiritless, nigh-frozen folk, they were not utterly forsaken. For out of nowhere there suddenly came a warm, bright, unexpected dawn and delivered their every child, abode and house.

But could this much-welcomed light be their very hope, or their even grimmer, graver — crueler destruction?

William Bailey Just released:

The Great Ship of Knowledge
volume-one second-edition
Learning Earth's Deathly History
Part Three: The Awakenings Begin

Seeking reviews for my latest book in continuation of my sci-fi series The Great Ship of Knowledge.

Part Three: The Awakenings Begin

In the future, people will no longer read books to learn about the past.

Instead, they will experience history by virtually living through the historic events like they were actually there when they played out.

But the future is already here, and we are Learning Earth's Deathly History!

Learning Earth's Deathly History, is a virtual reality post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure unlike anything you've ever read or watched!

The story:

Of the billions of people inhabiting our reality, only 144,000 are living souls.

Everyone else is computer filler... simply character actors playing their parts on the world stage.

Indeed, our planet is a convincing virtual reality built for teaching us the genocidal history of humanity on Earth.

In Part-One: The Journey Ends, our incredible reality is explained and the stage is set for Learning Earth’s Deathly History.

In Part-Two: Learning Earth’s Deathly History, we tragically witness the horrors of World War III including the unholy post-apocalyptic nightmare that follows.

Now in Part-Three: The Awakenings Begin…

Get ready to take an adrenaline pumping thrill ride into outer space that will surpass anything you have ever experienced!

Start your journey now!

Mark Everglade Hi. Hemispheres is a cyberpunk book about a tidal-locked planet where half the planet is always dark, and light itself is used as currency. A feminist organization, O.A.K., seeks to rotate the planet faster to bring light to everyone, rich and poor alike, while the government tries to stop them to protect the economy. When Severum, a mercenary hired by the government, witnesses the abuse of power, he comes to sympathize with the group he was ordered to shut down as he goes beyond his black and white thinking to understand how to balance society.
