Most enjoyable - a nice sense of Liverpool in the 40s (no idea if it's accurate, but most importantly it felt accurate...). I have a soft spot for Liverpool and for cats, and hard-boiled detective stories for relaxation, so they came together nicely ...more

Most enjoyable. I have a soft spot for Liverpool (I have friends and family there), I love cats, and I love hard-boiled detective fiction which I find a great way for me to relax, so what's not for me to like?! This is very much the first in a series ...more
