Thxlbx This series is so good, and Disquiet Gods did not disappoint! Hopefully we see Book 7 next year...but it will be worth the wait regardless.

I totally agree. Well, Ruocchio mentioned Shadows Upon Time will be out in 2025. Excited for that! :)

Luis Santos Can’t wait to delve on this one. One of the best series available!

DC Oh boy you do not give so many 5 stars out to the same series… I should start it soon…

message 6: by R. (new)

R. A. Strich Oh poor Daniel... I hope Cheyenne was nice to you :')

All I'm gonna say... That paragraph alone speaks volumes!
eARC blew me away and I'm beyond excited to finally add this one to my collection.
Ruocchio is one of the best - period - and so many readers yet have to learn of him.

I don't. Especially recently. This is the second 5 stars rating I gave to a book this year. Crazy.

Daniel? Petrik here hahaha. Glad you loved the book, though! :D

ShawnaInChapterland Oh man. I have read the first book and thought it was really good but not great. Now you have me itching to read the next though- I already own it!

The next book, Howling Dark, should be able to decide whether the series is for you or not! Many thought Empire of Silence as the weakest of the series, even though I loved it very much already! :)

The Angry Lawn Gnome Ah, "penultimate." For years I thought it meant something akin to "super dooper ultimate," rather than "second to last." Every time I see the word I have a self-deprecating chuckle.

It is second to last! 😁

Haha I was just referencing a paragraph from the ending there... The short flashback of a certain kid eager to meet a certain - entity... (Maybe you know which one I mean)
Didn't want to spoil haha but that scene just haunts me in a very beautiful way.
Oh and also great review as always! It's so nice to see you among other monoliths in the community giving Sun Eater the stage it deserves, so now that you're caught up and actually working on the Sepcial Editions... Damn, the series has come a long way!

OHHH! That's what you meant. Somehow I missed the Cheyenne part. Hahaha I thought you called me Daniel Greene! xD

But yeah, bittersweet to have caught up with the series. I will do my best to ensure The Broken Binding edition art looks amazing! :)

Sure, you two are really hard to distinguish! xD

Really hyped for these BB's! Even if they're way above my budget as a poor little student haha, the fact that they exist is enough for me.
I'm sure you'll do them justice from how much you also love the series.

Verity Moon Hi, Petrik!

Why would you say “dirge of the Cielcin”? Aren’t all creations of the universe be respected despite their politics?

message 19: by M (new)

M Hi Petrik is this the final book in the series or there is more books

It is the final destination of the series. The day the Cielcin is extinguished. Just saying I look forward to the lament for them. Also, in the context of the series, are you supporting Cielcin's obliteration of mankind instead?

There's one more book coming next year.

Christian A nice touch by the narrator of the audio books, each time Hadrian addresses the reader as he does at the end of each book or in this quote you marked “it may seem strange to you, dear reader”

Sam Roukin the narrator instead says “dear listener”

Something small but it really cements and anchors you in. You really feel like you’re listening to someone’s recordings on their life.

Oh that is interesting! I didn't use the audiobook so I didn't know that. Well done!

Matt Stopping by to comment; Whole book rocked but I agree. I want way more Jadd. Honestly fleshing out individual planets and cultures should happen in his standalones. Delos feels like a tangebile place in my mind so does Eau. I'd love to see Jadd get a similar treatment.

Benny The Bookie Great review. I am glad this series is finally getting noticed. I find it difficult to write my own reviews or videos of this series when it is so great. I truly think this may be a generational series in speculative fiction that will be talked about for many years after it is completed. This installment was as enjoyable as the others. There were certainly a lot of those WOW moments that the author has spoiled us with. Can't wait until the last novel to see how it will all end.

That's one of the strenfths of the series. If Ruocchio wants to, he can develop each planet with a new standalone story. It's so awesome!

Thank you so much, Benny! I totally agree. Just give it another 5-10 years. This series will be talked about as one of the must read series along the lines of Red Rising Saga and eventually Dune, IMO. :)

Michael I just finished the final book of this series, and I'm so surprised it has received so many 5 star rating. I've been following you for a long time now, and am very surprised you like it this much. I did like this series, and gave all the other books very high rating, but book 6 is so disappointing. I couldn't help but sense deus ex machina, which leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.
