I was so surprised when I saw that!! Like I get, Sarah/Bloomsbury need to promote the book but it is such a major spoiler for everyone that hasn’t read the series yet. They could have at least put a warning 😕

Completely agree with you! I mean, the last part didn’t save the book for me lol I was too annoyed by that point but you hit the nail on the head with all of the points you made.

Bryce and Hunt were a disaster. No romantic development happened at all. And yeah, the found family that was built in book 2 just got ruined here. Too much was happening. 😭

You explained everything so perfectly and I agree with all your points. I don’t know if the lack of emotional depth is because the book is so plot driven and it focused a lot more on the lore and world building than the characters, but it makes me sad that there wasn’t as much emotion in it like in the previous books 🥲 Bryce and Hunt’s relationship was so off 😭 and even though I adored Ruhn and Lidia’s romance, I have to agree, I think the pacing was weird and it was a bit rushed 🫣 it’s still a great book, but it could’ve been so much better.

Honestly, with the way Bryce was acting I was waiting for the reveal that the darkness from the other piece of the starlight was affecting her emotions and personality. I was getting ready for a dark Bryce storyline- that’s how strange and out of character I thought she was acting. Most of what she did to people - friends, family, husband, and ACOTAR fae was all so dark and out of character based on how she acted in the other books- it was odd. I couldn’t explain it. I also didn’t love Ruhn calling Lidia Sweetheart- that felt like it didn’t fit his character either- let that be Hunts thing. It also had me shaking my head that I ended up liking Hunt more in this book, way more then I liked Bryce when historically I have felt the opposite during the other 2 books. Glad I am not alone with my feelings about Bryce

I couldn’t read the review because of the spoilers but I’m sorry it was a mix review for you my darling! It sucks when a book you’ve been wanting to read for a while turns out mid… but I’m happy you found things to enjoy 💝💝
