I believe Krout wrote this to fulfill a publisher agreement. It is so bad that I now have to second guess any future Dakota books.
It's like calling up a 'don't kill yourself' hotline and all their counter arguments are only really bad puns...

I really liked the first 3 Divine Dungeon books, ...but I haven't been a fan of much else he written in cluding DD4 ( and absolutely hated Bibliomancer (Wolfman Warlock, #1).
I have such warm feelings about Divine Dungeon I get happy every time I see Dakota Krout's name and I fall right beck into the disappointment trap.
