I read homoeroticism in their friendship, but a colleague didn't. What say you?
Oh gosh, it's been over three years, I'm not sure. I think I read it as Verity being flirtatious and interested in more than friendship but Maddie totally oblivious. If I'm remembering right. But the unreliability adds a whole extra layer. Would either of them have actually written about it if they were romantic?
In her most recent book (Black Dove, White Raven), there are a couple women who I read as a completely obvious romantic couple, but almost every other reviewer seems to see them as best friends.
