Feliks, I feel a kindred spirit in you.
LOL the parachute scene! I remember tossing the book in the garbage can, then remembering that it wasn't mine, rescuing it and cleaning it up to return it. I usually make it a point to finish any book that I start, even if I'm hating it. Dan Brown was the one to break me. He and he alone managed to make me leave a book unfinished.
