Yeah, I definitely agree with this. Though she's reralistic, it doesn't keep her from being annoying as hell in the other books. Which is why I was so shocked I liked ICED so much. I was scared it being in her POV that it was gonna suck for me. But I think, while Dani was the same, she was toned down a lot. So I could deal with her in this book.
i think part of her being more toned down is in the fact that we are inside her head not just getting "the show" she put on to everyone else. we hear her reasoning to her perspectives and also know how much is inseecurities and or intuitive smoke screen to what she knows or feels as imopulsive as she is she does have a strategy even if she doesn't always know why she follows it.
Dani herself admits it is all a show. At one point she caught herself sounding too smart and ramped up to the usual obnoxious Dani.
