I was really excited for The City of Bones film and I mean VERY EXCITED to see one of my favourite series on screen but was disapointed
Any book reader is going to be disappointed by the film. There's only so much they can do within a budget and time frame. Whereas a book, you can take your time. It'll never be as good as you imagine it. Looking at the trailer, it's nothing like I imagined, the characters look nothing like I imagined, mainly because I imagined them like their cover personas.
On face value we are - as readers - hard to please. Indeed, my 'ideal' Rose or Dimitri will not totally like yours. But the are great actors out there, actors who just have to be discovered. And that's what counts, really. If Zoey can make believe that she is Rose,by portraying the essence that IS Rose - I'd be a fan of the movie.
I felt the same with Josh Hutcherson portraying Peeta, because he didn't look like 'my' Peeta. But he did a great job in my humble opinion.
