I agree, Tony. Not only is On Writing a metaphor for life...so is writing itself.
I think that is part of what Stephen King means when he talks about "honest writing" - everything the reader experiences in your story has to resonate with something deeper and real within our experience.
Troy, I never thought about his book "On Writing" as a metaphor for life. Thank you for bringing that to light.
