Marietta Brill agreed Penny, but I feel like I wandered into in the wrong Wolf Hall section as I'm a huge fan! A little tired of trying to defend the 'he' thing, which I think was a brilliant literary device and which she "remedied" almost to a fault in Bring up the Bodies -- I was amused at her continual repetition of "he, Cromwell"

Belinda She did overcorrect in Bring Up the Bodies, especially in the first few chapters. I distinctly felt my nose rubbed in it. :) I originally thought Wolf hall was a lot of work stylistically for not much payoff, but Bring Up the Bodies was brilliant. The scenes leading up to Anne's execution (that can't possibly be a spoiler, right?) are so beautifully written.

Lemmon Yes bring up the bodies was excellent. I read that first because wolf hall was not available at the library.
