Agreed David. I'm up to the Eva Brown bits. So slow. And I'm losing interest fast. ;/
She didn't have a sudden understand of her reincarnations; it's something that gradually built over the course of the novel. At first she only had vague feelings and didn't know why. Then she knew what to do but still didn't know why. And so on.
Scott, I probably missed some hints at the progression of her understanding. Still, I think I recall her having an epiphany and making her plan to assassinate Hitler – wasn’t that the first time she could actually see the future?
I felt completely the same about the lack-lustre ending. It's a shame really because I was enjoying the story until then. (Although the Blitz part definitely went on for a while)
Hmm. I really liked the Blitz parts, I guess because it's such an interesting part of history and because I don't think it's covered as much as other aspects of the war, but the residents in London were all truly heroic living through that and holding on. I also thought that was the time she was finally putting together some of the "clues" or vague memories of her previous lives. I had more trouble getting through the first part of the book.
