I asked this before. How formulaic? What formula does it follow? I have read quite a few books in my time, and I am not sure I would say this fit any one formula, but maybe I have not read enough. And if it is formulaic, what books or stories follow this formula, as I would be interested in reading them as I enjoyed this book quite a bit.
