I like it. You have to have read the bible to understand the book. I can see where the author is getting his information from. It's really interesting.
Irene's comment makes no sense at all. The message of the Bible and the message of the shack are in radical opposition with each other. The Shack presents a completely different world view than the bible, it is fit for the fire place at best.
Ive read the bible multiple times and in different translations and this book is as far from the bible as you can get. Terrible book, wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy
I've read it twice. The first time it was awe inspiring and just packed a wallop. It gave me so much to think about. The second time ( maybe a year later)I noticed things I hadn't noticed before, and there were some things that didn't impress me as much as the first time. But, all in all, I'm glad I read it. You don't have to agree with everything in it, or understand it all, to get a lot out of it. I especially liked that God met Mack in a form that he could respond positively to. His feelings against his father were too painful for him to accept a male figure as God. God is a spirit, after all.
I loved this book!!! At first, I thought God was scary and stuff, but now I think of Him as a really amazing African-American woman that is amazing!
I find it really interesting that this book affects different people in so many different ways. At least it is making people think about God.
