Ah, that's a fascinating way to look at it. I've never heard that perspective fully.
Also, Katniss betrayed Gale. And then Gale betrayed Katniss. So it kind of just ended there with Gale for me.
I was team Gale up til that point. I love the way the story ended.
This makes sense. It surprised me when I found myself pulling for Peeta in the series because Gale and Katniss did have a history and what would seem (to me anyway) like more stability in a relationship as a result -- but this was exactly why I couldn't pull for Gale. Peeta was who she needed in the long run.
And besides, maybe Katniss doesn't need that head-over-heels love story. Peeta got it instead. :)
yeah, i didn't understand why, even after both games and all and hating Peeta/fake loving peeta in a forced relationship that she went on and married and had kids with him?? why???
gale and her were perfect 4 each other. she just brushed him off through the whole mockingjay book
I feel Katniss was actually in love with peeta after what he did for her with the burnt bread then keeping her safe in the hunger games so i feel like it was hard for her to love Gale past a friend.
I think in Mockingbird we start to see Katniss loosing Gale. Gale is just trying to be a martyr and I think he doesn't care about Katniss anymore, at least not as he did in the beginning. Gale cares much more about the revolution and I think that's why their friendship also started to dissolve and at the end they didn't even leave in really good terms
