I completely agree! I hated Red Badge of Courage!
OMG! I KNOW, right? After three or four manly dudely books in senior English, the teacher announced we would be reading Slaughterhouse Five, and I went home wailing to my mother that I just couldn't face ONE MORE OF THOSE BOOKS. She gently suggested to the teacher that there might be some girls in his class and he gave us the choice of S5 or Wuthering Heights. I would have preferred Jane Ayre, but I guess that was too frivolous.
