I totally agree with you, the same feeling I do have for the twilight books..It seems that everyone did enjoy the series of it, but not me. The Girl with Dragon Tattoo is an investigative fiction, you really have to let your mind play while you are reading this and definitely you will enjoy reading books like this.
I think I didn't mind the sexual violence and all that stuff because it was kind of like a REALLY LONG episode of Law and Order: SVU, which I love, and has probably desensitized me from stuff like that, at least in works of fiction.
