Same at my school, the boys called me "Bookie" last year, which made them sound really stupid because i don't hold people's bets for them haha >.<
Hahaha! I practically have a new book every day or two. I've actually had some friends jaws drop when they saw me get a new book out of my bag, lol. I think I've seen only 2 other people so far, this year, reading a book. I've probably only seen 5 in total my entire high school career and I'm a senior!
My friends always told me I had no life because I read so much, I had a new book every few days, too! They just don't get that reading IS part of having a life, and it's great if you give it a chance!
Books are better than real life! It's like if someone says "Why don't you go to the movies with some friends? Get out for once!" I reply with "A book is like a movie. In fact, it's better."
Yeah! It's not like i don't get out i suppose, it's just that everyone seems to think that reading is dumb. I would like to know how THAT got started! Who decided to set a trend to turn kids off from reading awesome books and making them miss out on a great part of life?? And books are way better than movies, because there are no bad actors!
Yeah, I know! I've learned so much from reading! I think it teaches more than an English class sometimes :P
The Twilight books were the first books I ever really read and I became completely obsessed because it seemed so amazing to me (because I had nothing to compare it to!). Now I know better, haha!
Same here! I read them so many times when I was first introduced! But I've read so many books now that are so good that I don't even really think about Twilight anymore...I like romance in a book, but I don't have that much patience for a book that's entirely romance. :P I've learned so much from books, too, and it's really helped my vocabulary!;)
I totally agree with everything you said! I HAVE to have an element of romance in all of my books. No instant love or a book, like Twilight, where the romance is the plot. I like books with a complex plot (adventure, magic, etc.) that brings two characters together. Also, some of my favorite books are those filled with sexual tension. You know, where the main characters don't know that they love each other till the end of the book :D
