There are lots of other ways women can be subjugated. My point was, if the Ceremony was so disliked by everyone involved, including the men, I don't know why they didn't just use a turkey baster. So I think the other person that said that it wasn't about dominance over the women may have been correct, but probably closer to the whole "spilling of seed is a sin" thing in the Bible.
