Yet you awarded "The Secret Life of Bees" 5 stars while giving both "The Book Thief" and "To Kill A Mockingbird" only 4 stars?
As far as ease of reading and pure enjoyment I did like 'A Secret Life of Bees' better. Having lived in SC for many years I guess I related to it a bit more. I do think that 'The Book Thief' will stand the test of time better and be appreciated by male audiences more than TSLB. As I said in my post above. It has been a long, long time since I read 'To Kill A Mockingbird', probably 40-45 years. I based my rating on what I remembered about the book. I remembered just liking it but as I also said I might have a different opinion were I to read it now. There are plenty of of 'classics' that I gave even fewer stars to.
