Adrienne I got the same impression, not the Same Ranger or Morelli. robotic without emotion.

Elvis Who did they pick to play Ranger? I haven't heard.

Adrienne Virginia: sad to say, I hated 17. Did not find a curse funny one bit.Couldn't believe Ranger would be willing to share Stephanie. Then her lame excuse of getting a bladder infection left me shaking my head.

TimeyWimeyBooks You can see who they picked for Ranger on IMDB. He looks familiar, I think he has been on Grey's Anatomy but I can't remember his name.

✿Sandra I just had someone in my Book Club tell me they have always pictured Dwayne Johnson "The Rock" when they have thought of Ranger. I'm not sure why I never thought of him before, but now that she said it, I think he would have been great for the part!

Jenn Sandra- That is exactly who I picture for Ranger!

Too bad we didn't get to choose! :)

TimeyWimeyBooks The Rock would work, in my opinion. This guy they cast is waaay too young. He doesn't look at all like he's had a mysterious life. Not enough gravitas.

Erica I agree the story lines are starting to get old and tiresome.

Adrienne Erica: I agree, there are plenty of stories that could be told... What is Ranger's secrets. Why is Morelli willing to be in an open relationship with Stephanie. Why has Morelli and Stephanie never had that talk about Ranger. Characters like Benito... Abruzzi, where the story goes to the end. Not stop at chapter five and you know who the killer is or the person after Stephanie. Why keep a triangle going when its old and Stephanie has slept with both men. New characters like JeanneEllen Burrows brought in could refresh the series. Does Stephanie really need to continue to destroy a car or two in every story? Does Lulu really need to eat through an entire story without a reason.

Karen Yes, agree. (Esp. with the Ranger part!) It has to be difficult continually coming up with new ideas, but that's her job; it's what she is paid to do. If James Patterson can come up with 10 books a year, surely JE can come up with 1 good plot.

Karen, I think as a writer, if you have a year to write a book you would develop a story line and a plot that lasts through the entire book, in 17 you knew the bad guy by chapter five. Where as in the older books when Benito and Abruzzi was stalking Stephanie it went to the end of the book. The bad guys kept you turning the pages. Now Stephanie relies on Ranger to bail her out. Nothing against Ranger, but as a bounty hunter you would think she could get her self out of trouble. She did it in the past. JE has said in interviews she starts with an idea for the beginning and the end. And, then does the middle. I would think writing from page one to the last page would be easier. More consistency to the story and the plot.

Adrienne I agree Virginia. I would pick Ranger too. He treats Steph as an equal... accepts her as she is.
