Alexis Victoria I agree and disagree with the statement. It's true, Romeo and Juliet were the ones who made the choice to kill THEMSELVES. But when you think about it, the only reason they did was because they didn't want to live a life where they have to hide around and one was told who to marry. Juliet was told who to marry, and if he wasn't Romeo then he meant nothing to her. The feud between the Montague's and Capulet's are the reason so many people died in this story. When they found out Romeo and Juliet died, Capulet said "As rich shall Romeo's by his lady's lie; // Poor sacrifices of our enmity!" (Shakespeare 5.3). The bad blood between the two families took many lives of their descendants.
