Harjap I don't think that it was the Capulets fault entirely (though it definitely was to some extent) because as they say "it takes two to tango" which means that the Montagues wouldn't have exactly ecstatic about having Romeo falling in love with a Capulet, which again would've brought them to the same plan. Even if Paris wasn't in the picture there always would've been some kind of force conspiring against them and keeping them from being together. If not now, Juliet would have to marry someone someday which would again bring us back to the same tragic ending. At least with this ending, they're finally together.

Alina Haque I believe the folly of youth is responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet. Both lovers were reckless and threw caution to the wind, just to be together. Romeo and Juliet both knew that their love was forbidden and dangerous. Romeo even says, " One fairer than my love? The all-seeing sun//Ne'er saw her match since first the world begun." (Shakespeare, 1:2:94-95). Romeo even denies that there is anything more beautiful than Juliet. he barely knew her for a week and he already has such strong feelings for her. They acted recklessly and boldly. The only thought about how much they loved each other and that they would d anything for each other. Maybe they didn't even love each other, maybe they liked the idea of love. They wouldn't know the difference because they were so rushed.

Samantha I believe that in a way it is both of their faults, both families had a part in their death.

Timothy Chon I believe that it is not Capulet's fault because of the possibility of many other ways to escape this marriage, such as running away with Romeo to live together. But instead, Juliet makes a reckless decision to fake her death without thinking about what could happen to Romeo, so I believe it is Romeo's and Juliet's own fault that they died.
